One of the prettiest peach varieties available on the market, the Vivid Peach Tree (Prunus persica 'Vivid') features fully red-blushed skin! Spectacular spring blooms, along with the eye-catching fruit and good fall color make this choice a true ornamental edible!
Gorgeous early spring blooms in a glorious pink hue light up your entire tree and call pollinators from far and wide. But this one isn't just a pretty face. These peaches also deliver a luscious and juicy fresh eating experience. Vivid is a good all-around peach with a high-quality flavor.
Fans call it ‘the perfect peach’ for good reason. Use them as an excellent fresh-eating peach, and in homemade preserves, pies and cobblers. Their freestone pits pull away cleanly from the flesh for easy preparation.
You'll love how productive Vivid Peach trees are! These reliable producers are easy-care and self-pollinating! The fruit ripens mid-season and provides you with loads of bright red fruit with juicy yellow flesh!
A vibrant ornamental tree, instead of getting that flowering tree for your landscaping that only has blooms in spring, get the Vivid Peach and enjoy 4 seasons of beauty and usefulness!
Situate outside a window or other prominent location where you can watch the beauty unfold throughout the seasons! Fantastic specimen plants, Vivid is a gorgeous focal point anywhere you plant it.
This tree produces shade for your seating areas or patio, Vivid is sized to fit into nearly any sized garden or home orchard with ease! Self-fruitful, you’ll only need one tree for a bountiful harvest of healthy, delectable fruit!
Peach trees need full sun and at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Morning sun is best, as the strong rays quickly dry off the foliage from overnight dew. Hardy in USDA growing zones 4-8, Vivid is incredibly versatile, adaptable and tolerant of both cold and hot summers!
Please provide fertile, well-drained soil, enriched with compost and organic matter. Choose a site with slightly acidic soil, with a sandy-loam medium.
Fruit trees do not tolerate soggy conditions, so if you suspect you have poorly draining soil, improve drainage as needed by creating a mounded heap of soil 12 to 18 inches above the soil line and 3 feet out from the trunk, or plant in a raised bed.
Give your trees a moderate amount of water on a regular basis. Make the most of the supplemental water by applying mulch over the root system to a depth of 3 inches. Spread the mulch out 3 feet from the outside of the canopy. Mulch not only provides insulation from heat and chill, but also maintains consistent moisture levels in the soil.
For best results, fertilize your tree regularly with Dr. Earth Fruit Tree Fertilizer or a good organic, slow-release fertilizer. Add Nature Hills Root Booster while planting for a life-long symbiotic relationship with the tiny feeder roots.
Good air circulation is important as well. Prune to keep the center of the tree open to both air and sunlight. It is easy to maintain this tree much smaller if needed for a small home orchard, small yard, or to harvest easily. Maintaining a smaller tree also allows you to cover in bird netting so your local feathered friends won’t carry away all of your harvest.
In late winter, prune to keep an open canopy for sunlight and airflow to reach the interior of the tree. Read more pruning tips and tricks, as well as Peach Tree Care in our Garden Blog!
