Phlox Pink Flame
The Phlox Pink Flame, 'Phlox paniculata', is an ideal ground cover with masses of tiny lilac purple flowers with a white center and a thick mat of foliage.
‘Pink Flame’ is a new variety with variegated foliage and a pinkish tinge near the tips or the leaves. Blooming from April to May, it has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18”.
This garden phlox adds a wonderful lilac purple color to your perennial garden. ‘Pink Flame’ needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil. This ‘Pink Flame’ can survive in rock gardens, spreads over curbs and short retaining walls, or even thrives in difficult edges of dry streambeds.
‘Pink Flame’ combines well with other perennials and provides gorgeous lilac purple blooms all summer long. If you are wishing for birds to visit your yard, add this garden phlox to a flower bed where it will attract hummingbirds, and it certainly is a great choice for inclusion in a bird garden.
