Beautifully Rounded Blue Oat Grass

  • Colorful Evergreen Foliage
  • Deer and Drought Resistant
  • Urban Tolerant
  • Easy Care
  • Wonderful Metallic Blue Color

Blue Oat Grass (Helictotrichon sempervirens) grows in neat, densely rounded clumps of metallic, silvery blue foliage. This reliable, attractive grass is often used in garden design and landscaping.

This is an eye-catching ornamental grass that remains vibrant all summer long. You'll adore the look of the foot-long tan blades tipped with blue/green blooms from May to August. These become golden oat-like seed heads that branch out in an arching shape.

The look they create is an airy, feathery, fountain-like appearance. What an elegant display in any type of setting!

Blue Oat Grass prefers fertile soils, but will tolerate less fertile conditions, as well as sandy or heavy-clay soil as long as it drains well. The more sun you can give it, the better the performance will be for you.

Blue Oat Grass requires minimal care, and it is both a forgiving and hardy grass. Give them the right conditions, and they should last for many years with minimal care.

Set your plants two feet apart (measing from the center of one to the center of the next) to form solid masses of foliage. Remember, if you want a head start on your design order the biggest plants you can from Nature Hills.

This is a wonderful accent in rock gardens and other plantings. Blue Oat Grass will give a lot of style, movement and reliable structure to your landscape

It's an excellent choice for color and form. It combines well with other, larger grasses. Place these in front of other, larger grasses. They'll combine beautifully to make an easy-care visual impact.

Add drama and accent to your garden, and order Blue Oat Grass today!
