How to Use Endless Summer® Summer Crush® Hydrangea in the Landscape

Summer Crush® Hydrangeas offer giant, raspberry red blooms in a compact size. They are the perfect size for patio containers, patios, or lining a stone path. They'll stay nice, tidy and small and fits smaller spaces in any garden.

This knockout will work all across your yard - from containers with curb appeal - to the pool deck, front yard, or as low edging shrub anywhere. This is a wonderful way to experience life in full bloom this summer.

Use this compact, tidy plant as a wonderful "Thriller" for containers of all shapes and sizes. Pair with trailing vines and lower-growing annuals or perennials for an incredible presentation.

Move your containers wherever you think you need more color. Fill holes in your perennial border or add a ton of style to landings or entrances.

Summer Crush® works extremely well with stone, so consider using as a low hedge along a wall or outdoor kitchen. Try these as a modern small foundation plant for the east side of the house.

Even the dark green foliage is a perfect contrast for the gorgeous mix of outstanding red blooms and purple blooms. We can see this lining a walkway as a delicious low hedge. Edge your borders with a long row of these charmers.

Fill your garden with hydrangeas and you'll have plenty on hand to arrange and bring indoors as floral-quality arrangements. They combine beautifully with bright annuals, roses, and evergreens in a variety of containers.

Contrast the bold color with bright yellow Black-Eyed Susan, and jewel toned Coneflower. Add motion with an Ornamental Grass. These plants would look incredible against a tall, slender Taylor Juniper tree or Columnar Blue Spruce tree for structure in your garden design.

These are versatile powerhouse plants - they'll work so hard for you no matter how you use them! Order today.

#ProPlantTips for Care

Proven to be Zone 4 cold hardy and the most wilt-resistant Endless Summer® yet, this compact growing hydrangea with dark green glossy leaves loves morning sun and afternoon shade in Zones 8 and 9.

Like most hydrangeas, they'll grow best in full sun during the morning hours and will appreciate a bit of afternoon shade.

If you'll be growing them in containers, select a container with good drainage holes. Fill with high quality potting soil. Plant the hydrangea at the same level as it is in the original container. On hot windy days, check the soil moisture with your fingers daily. Give them a balanced fertilizer in early spring and around the 4th of July.

Hydrangeas require more water than other plants because of their large blooms. Check the soil moisture with your fingers first to make sure it needs water, as overwatering can delay blooms.

To use in flower arrangements, prepare a vase with warm water and dissolved floral preservative. Submerge the stems before you start arranging to keep them hydrated. Next, take individual stems out of the water and recut an inch off the tip at an angle.

For a modern look, remove the leaves and then re-submerge the stem. Do this for all the stems. Finally, work to arrange the blooms in a balanced arrangement. Add separate branches with foliage to soften the look. Change the water in the vase every other day. Remove any spent foliage quickly.

To dry hydrangeas for winter decoration, it's best to allow them to dry naturally on the plant before removing them late in the season. Use Silica Gel desiccant on fresh blooms if you'd like to maintain the bright color of dried Summer Crush® blooms, following directions on the box. Be sure to pick your fresh blooms in the afternoon, so they aren't wet with dew before you start.

Whatever you do with this Endless Summer® Summer Crush®, we know you'll have a good time with it. With fantastic blooms like this, how can you help but smile?

This plant is hot, hot, hot and we will sell out. Please place your order today!
