Let Proven Winners® Color Choice® Snippet® Dark Pink Weigela (Weigela florida 'VUKOZLyra') take your garden from 'Meh' to 'Amazing' in one easy step! This fresh new look and color in Weigelas instantly bring brilliance and vivacity to your garden, no matter if it's old and tired or new and needy. This dwarf shrub will be smothered in spring-blooming, dark-pink buds that open to an amazingly rich pink!

This variety blooms for months, not weeks! The trumpet-shaped blossoms are just the right kind that hummingbirds adore! Snippet® reblooms profusely and naturally forming a rounded mound. Snippet® Dark Pink Weigela has densely branched, deep-green foliage that perfectly sets off both the showy pink blooms and your other shrub colors alike!

Snippet® Dark Pink has wonderful green foliage that looks great through three seasons until frost, but it really is the blanket of trumpet-shaped flowers that makes this plant shine! It is a very versatile little shrub. Not only that, but it is a fantastic rebloomer. It starts blooming in the spring and doesn't let up until the frost takes it down. With a neat, compact size that will never overwhelm, but that bloom color just might!

Planting and Application:

Because Snippet® is rarely without blooms from late spring through fall, they are welcome additions about anywhere! Snippet® Weigela will remain small and fits just about anywhere! From adding a pop of bright color to borders to adding some glitz and sparkle to your mixed-shrub beds!

These boldly inhabit a container or planter and are gorgeous flanking walkways and garden edges in radiant color! Acting as a low visual hedge and amazing facer plants in front of taller foundation shrubs, their height makes them perfect edging plants to define borders and brighten up the path along walkways.

Easy care and low maintenance, they make wonderful groupings and blocks of bold color when planted en masse! Alternately, their smaller size and their vivid burst of color make Snippet® an eye-catching focal point and specimen plant as well!

Pollinators just can't stay away! Your garden will hum with butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. What stays away are deer and rabbits, so plant it around your woodlands and to the rear of your property to your heart's content.

  • Rich Dark-Pink Flowers!
  • Reblooming Colorful & Lush
  • Bright Green Foliage - Dwarf & Compact Size
  • Pollinator Friendly & Hummingbirds!
  • Great in Containers, Front Border, Facer Plants, Vertical Interest & Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Snippet® fits perfectly in just about any sunny spot! Weigela shrubs thrive best in full sun, requiring at least six hours a day, with eight or more just improving the color and quality of your Snippet®. Super easy to grow and doesn't fuss or require fussing, Weigela are very late to leaf out in spring, so be patient if you don't see signs of life on your plant, despite the fact that other plants in your landscape may be starting to grow.

Doing their very best in average garden soils, they enjoy moderate moisture levels. Weigela does need well-drained soils but is not particular on the soil type. A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture in the ground as well as insulates the root system from heat and chill.

Dwarf Weigela won't need pruning, trimming, or deadheading in order to rebloom. However, if you wish to give them some pruning, just be sure to do it right after that first spring flush of color. Snippet® continues to bloom all summer with wave after wave of new flowers - no deadheading needed! Weigela does benefit from a renewal pruning every few years, with the oldest stems removed that are not as productive to keep the shrub dense, loaded in blooms and lushly covered in foliage.

  • Full Sun Lover
  • Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Easy Care & Low-Maintenance & Very Deer Resistant
  • Prune After Spring Bloom & No Deadheading Required

Dwarf shrubs always find themselves right at home anywhere in your landscape and with the big, bold features that Snippet® provides, you'll forget their size and only notice their brilliance! If your garden needs a little pick-me-up, order the Proven Winners® Color Choice® Snippet® Dark Pink Weigela from Nature Hills Nursery today!
