I planted four bare root stocks in and around a magnolia treet (a no no) and one struggled with the heat. We had a severe drought last summer and a few really bitter cold days this winter so I didn't hold much hope for their survival. BUT - they are all a foot and a half tall and blooming like crazy. We did have some spring rains here in zone 6b. The flowers are dark orange with yellow centers and are spectacular. I love this rose!WLSpartanburg, SC

Hello Wilson,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the Livin' Easy™ Floribunda Rose! We're thrilled to hear that despite the challenges of planting near a magnolia tree, enduring severe drought, and cold winter weather, your roses are not only surviving but thriving and blooming beautifully. Your resilience as a gardener truly shines—and it's wonderful to know that the dark orange and yellow blossoms are bringing such spectacular color to your garden in Spartanburg!

Since roses sometimes struggle near large trees due to competition for nutrients and water, watching your roses flourish is particularly impressive. To keep them happy as they grow, consider regular deep watering during dry spells and possibly adding a layer of mulch to help conserve moisture and cool roots, especially in drought-prone climates. Fertilizing with a balanced rose fertilizer in early spring will also support ongoing health and bloom production.

If you ever need tips on pest management or seasonal pruning to maximize blooms, we’re just a message away in the NatureHills Plant Help Center.

Thanks once again for your thoughtful review and for choosing Livin’ Easy™ for your garden!

Hi Wilson,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the Livin' Easy™ Floribunda Rose! We’re delighted to hear that despite the challenging conditions—planting near a magnolia, drought, and cold spells—your roses are thriving and putting on such a spectacular show. Your resilience and care truly made a difference!

Your description of the dark orange blooms with yellow centers sounds absolutely stunning—it’s fantastic that the spring rains gave them the boost they needed. To help your roses stay strong through the seasons, keep an eye on soil moisture and consider mulch around the base to retain water and protect roots from stress. Also, infused rose fertilizers in early summer could sustain their vibrant blooms.
