Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

You've never seen a Cotoneaster like this before. Emerald Beauty™ Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster x suecicus 'OSUCOT2') is such a mesmerizing green that you might find Dorthy herself getting sidetracked to admire it on her way to the iconic Emerald City!
This specimen was originally bred by Oregon State University to be especially disease resistant, especially against Fire Blight. Of course, the average person wouldn't see that, they'd simply be wowed by its evergreen color and petite flowers.
Emerald Beauty™ is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with lovely deep green, glossy foliage. The color is enjoyable all year round, making it a fantastic four-season interest piece for your garden!
Each year, in the late spring and early summer, the leaves are covered in copious amounts of petite, white flowers. They pack a flower power punch with their prominent yellow stamens.
Pollinators like butterflies will flutter by and land on a bloom or two for a tasty snack. Sit back and enjoy their colorful show all summer long. Of course, that's not all Emerald Beauty™ has in store.
Just as you're thinking you'll have to wait until next spring for the show to continue, this evergreen bush reveals yet another trick up its sleeve, bright orange berries!
Yes! As you don your fall sweaters and your comfy scarves, Emerald Beauty™ will burst forth with brilliant orange-red berries! The contrast between them and the deep green foliage will have you looking forward to the holiday season!
These berries aren't so good for human consumption but the wildlife nearby will go bananas! Birds love to eat them throughout the winter months to keep them full and happy. That means minimal berry mess, score!
From its glossy oval leaves to the splendid fruit display, adding an Emerald Beauty™ Cotoneaster to your garden is a no-brainer!
Planting and Application:
Use your Emerald Beauty™ across your landscape in just about any way you can imagine. The sky's the limit!
The low-to-the-ground, compact growing habit of this specimen makes it perfect for front-row planting! It'll provide a nice transition from yard to garden without overtaking and overpowering the pretty perennials behind it.
If you already have a Rock Garden, or a perennial garden border, perhaps use Emerald Beauty™ as a true-to-form ground cover. It's sure to draw the eyes of those who pass by.
For larger, more open spaces, you can always use a few of these shrubs to create a mass planting worthy of the most experienced master gardeners! They are wonderful decorative erosion control for slopes and terraced areas!
Of course, cottage gardens are also a prime place to sneak one or two of these Cotoneasters. The bright red-orange berries are sure to complete the fall aesthetic everyone is looking for these days. Plant one near a brick wall for the perfect fall Instagram background!
Would you call yourself a casual birdwatcher? If so Emerald Beauty™ is an evergreen shrub you'll want to add to your garden or border. It'll keep the nonmigratory birds coming throughout the cold winter months and keep you on your birdwatching toes!
- Gorgeous Glossy Green Broadleaf Evergreen Foliage
- Petite White Flowers Attracts Summer Pollinators
- Blazing Red-Orange Berries - Great for Birdwatching
- Low, Compact Growth Habit
- Four-Season Interest, Fantastic for Mass Planting & Edging/Facer Plants
#ProPlantTips for Care:
When planting, you'll want to find a nice sunny spot for Emerald Beauty™ as it loves to bask in the sun's rays all day long! Don't worry though, if all you have is some part shade, it'll do just fine there as well. It's not extremely picky. But you will have fewer flowers and berries in less than 6 hours of direct sunlight a day.
Soil is another matter. In order to grow the happiest, most successful plant, you'll want to make sure it's planted in well-drained soil. Poorly draining soil and bad air circulation are the quickest ways to make an unhappy plant.
Once Emerald Beauty™ is established, you won't have to worry about watering it overly often. Plus, this particular specimen was created to be especially disease-resistant! No sick plants on your watch! For best results, water during extended drought and provide a 3-4 inch layer of mulch around the entire root system.
If the only thing stopping you from adding this stunner to your garden is the everpresent dread of pruning then fear not! Pronounced "Koh toh knee aster", this Cotoneaster requires absolutely none to keep its neat and compact form!
- Grows Best in Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Widely Adaptable - Any Well-Drained Soils
- Moderate Moisture Needs -Drought Tolerant Once Established
- Prune After Flowering
- Very Adaptable, Pollution-Tolerant & Easy-To-Grow
