Dutchman's Pipe

The Dutchman's Pipe (Aristolochia durior) is an unusual ornamental perennial vine with enormous bright green heart-shaped leaves and long vining tendrils of dark green stems! But what really will amaze you are the blooms! The greenish-yellow blooms with burgundy tops look like curved little pipes!

The speckled blooms have a yellow throat and, like the similar-looking carnivorous Pitcher Plant, call flies with their stinky aroma to pollinate the blooms. Talk about unique!
