Imagine the little black dress paired with a strand of genuine pearls and long white gloves. Now, tell me...what color lipstick comes to mind?

That fabulous red that's perfectly balanced between warm and cool tones? Yes, that's the one.

If you are going with red roses, why not make it a real statement? Drop Dead Red™ (Rosa "WEKcharlie' PP# #22,571) floribunda has style in spades.

Drop Dead Red roses feature up to 30 beautifully arranged petals per bloom. Their formal look is sleek and symmetrical.

This bushy, shiny, showy plant is a very special Rose hybridized by Tom Carruth. It stands out not just for the color of these special blooms, but also for their wonderful texture.

Velvety petals feel the way a rose should as you drag a single bloom across your cheek. Thick petals grab hold of the saturated hue and won't let go!

The brilliant red of Drop Dead doesn't fade, so the perfect cut blooms last a long time in vases. Include some of the deeply glossy green foliage to pop that color in your floral arrangements.

Why pay for a single bouquet? Grow armloads of these impeccable red blooms all season.

You'll be inspired by this floribunda rose, and so will your visitors. Hint, hint...Drop Dead Red Rose makes a great gift for any occasion.

Even beginning gardeners have great success with this modern Rose bush. Great genetics make it very resistant to common diseases like black spot and powdery mildew...especially when you give them the conditions they need to thrive.

We ship only when the weather is right for planting in your area. But your exquisite taste is welcome anytime!

How to Use Drop Dead Red™ Rose in the Landscape

Add sizzling drama with this eye-catching Rose bush. No one needs to know how easy-care this high-performance selection really is!

Keep one in an outdoor patio pot for a very noteworthy focal point. Buy two to use as matching sentries flanking either side of your front door.

Run several of them as a low hedge to create a natural barrier under windows in a sunny side yard. You'll want to invest in a good pair of leather gloves to work with their thorny canes; and intruders will think twice, too!

Create a marvelous mass planting with staggered, zigzagging rows to enliven a boring backyard. Reimagine your existing evergreen trees and foundation plantings with a bold splash of this intense red.

Weave it into your perennial border, or edge your shrub border. Drop Dead Red Rose looks incredibly modern when paired with a mix of three of your favorite Ornamental Grasses from our online catalog.

#ProPlantTips for Care

With Roses, the most important thing you can do is to pick a great planting site. Drop Dead Roses grow best in full sun with at least six hours of direct sunlight a day.

Well-drained soil is important, because Rose roots don't tolerate standing water. Add additional soil to create a raised bed if you have soggy soil.

You'll also want to order Nature Hills Root Booster as a planting aid to support the tiny feeder roots. This symbiotic formula never "wears out".

Dig your planting hole twice as wide as the roots; but no deeper. Only dig deep enough to match the level of the soil line.at your home and in the pot.

Be dedicated to a consistent watering schedule. Use an automatic timing on a soaker hose for a blissfully easy solution for both in-ground and container-grown Roses.

Apply a three-inch layer of mulch over the roots to keep them nice and cool. Don't let it directly touch the canes...pull it back a few inches all the way around them.

Feed Roses specialty Rose fertilizer. Check the application rates and timing on the label.

In fall, please bag and remove all leaf litter. Overwinter them in the coldest zones with a mound of mulch applied in late November.

In early spring, pull the mulch back away from the crown once they start to grow. Prune each of the Rose canes down to 6 - 8 inches at a 45-degree angle just above a nice, fat bud.
