Cast your eyes at the otherworldly beauty of Spellbound Coral Bells (Heuchera x 'Spellbound')! You'll be enthralled by this special Heuchera! They are first and foremost a foliage plant that draws you in to study their large, ruffled leaves all season long. New leaves unfurl into a majestic rose-purple, ruffled glory to impress your garden guests. Like magic, they'll develop an eye-catching silvery overlay in the shade.

Because Spellbound grows a bit larger and develops multiple crowns...it makes a stunning backdrop for more petite offerings. The pointed, lobed foliage is so magical, especially when paired with black and silver-leaved plants in the landscape!

In the summertime, magical flower spires rise high above the mounded foliage. They are covered in bell-shaped white and yellow flowers that look fantastic in bouquets as filler. The blooms are an irresistible clarion call for beneficial pollinators of all shapes. Pollinators and hummingbirds will be caught in their spell, too! Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 9, these low-growing herbaceous perennials for your landscape!

Planting and Application:

Make the most of the natural mystery of dim and shady areas of your landscape. You'll be tempted to place them in a high-profile area, so you don't miss a moment of their color-changing display. Add a hammock stand or cozy seating area nearby to make the most of your blissful Shade Gardens. But Heuchera also plays an important role in creating a healthy and robust ecosystem. Butterfly gardens and Hummingbirds or Birdbath gardens are ideal locations for these blooms!

Although small, Spellbound Coral Bells also deliver an incredible visual impact that makes a huge impression on garden tours! The deep tones of Spellbound Coral Bells make a fabulous "Filler" in large outdoor containers, too. Add their effortless small space style on your patio or balcony. Spellbound looks fantastic in black or grey planters and in a Moon Garden where it shimmers! Why not add a Halloween display nearby? The kids will love to touch the ruffle-edged leaves and study the incredible coloration.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

This Perennial performs just as well in shade, where the vivid hue brightens up dusky corners. This particular cultivar performs in full sun and well-drained soil. Provide an even schedule of moisture and ensure they'll live in well-drained soil, then pull a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch around to cover the root system. Be careful not to plant the crown too deep...leave about an inch of the nursery dirt showing as you plant, then pull mulch around to cover. Use Nature Hills Root Booster while planting for the life-long support of the tiny feeder roots. Keep the foliage intact until early spring before pruning away winter dieback and cleaning the mound.

  • Exceptional Performance in Partial or Full Shade
