Then, listen up! Angelina Sedum (Sedum rupestre 'Angelina') is your solution to all of these! This vigorous little groundcover quickly forms a 6-inch mat that will crowd out weeds.

Angelina has brilliant, needle-shaped, golden-yellow foliage. It is also a great butterfly and bee attractor and is disease resistant. It does well in gravelly soil, rocky and sandy soil. Fantastic as edging, ground cover, and in a pot because of its trailing habit.

The foliage will turn golden orange or even a reddish hue in autumn. This is a great choice for beds and borders and the blooms make excellent cut flowers.

Also known as Stonecrop, Sedum features long-lasting blooms that are vibrant yellow and are beautifully star-shaped! With an all-summer bloom time, these keep blooming well into autumn. The brilliant summer blooms attract loads of bees and butterflies!

How to Use Angelina Sedum In The Landscape

Fill dry and rocky soil and tricky areas quickly with these xeriscaping plants. That sun-baked ‘hell-strip’ along the road or spilling over a rock wall or retaining wall.

Use this sedum in a container on a hot deck or around your sunny planters on the patio. It will not mind missing a watering or two throughout the seasons! You can even use Angelina in your window box or hanging baskets for easy care spillers and brilliant color all summer!

Sun Gardens, Perennial beds and Pollinator gardens are fantastic sites for clumps or vibrant green groundcover. These readily naturalize large sunny areas when given the opportunity.

Edge beds and borders or allow Angelina to creep and ramble throughout rock paths and between stepping stones.

#ProPlantTips For Care

First developed in a private garden in Croatia, Angelina prefers well-drained soil and to be kept on the dry side. Water regularly to get established, afterwards, they only need supplemental watering during times of extreme heat and drought!

Plant it in full sun in well-drained soil. It will tolerate most soil types and is drought resistant. Thriving in clay soils, gravel and sand, any soil in full sun that is dry to medium moisture is perfect for these plants!

Hardy in USDA growing zones 4 through 9, these can be evergreen in the warmer climates and in mild winters. Retaining their needle-like foliage and yellow flowers throughout the heat. These spread quickly to a two-foot clump only reaching a maximum of 6 inches in height.

Low maintenance, Angelina only requires a shearing and clean-up in early spring, before you see new growth. For better moisture retention, add a healthy layer of mulch around the root zone to keep more moisture consistency in the soil.

Easy to grow, you’ll adore these mat-forming groundcovers for all your possible sun garden needs. Easy and versatile, they’re almost the perfect plant! Be sure to order enough of these golden yellow beauties for your next project at NatureHills.com!
