Cheerful blooms, the Happy Face® Pink Paradise Potentilla (Potentilla fruticosa HAPPY FACE 'Kupinpa'), is a deciduous shrub with ornamental features. Potentilla has always been a popular plant among gardeners, and are highly ornamental shrubs that are hardy, tidy, and carefree.

Your Happy Face® Pink Paradise provides all the familiar features of a hardy Potentilla but adds the additional appeal of lively, pink flowers that hold their color far longer than the other pinks. The delicate, ¾-inch blossoms are semi-double and will blanket the green foliage from June through August!

Pollinators galore will arrive to sip nectar and carry away the rich pollen! Happy Face® Pink Paradise Potentilla has a mounded habit and compact nature and is cold-hardy throughout USDA growing zones 2 to 7. Happy Face® Potentilla becomes the workhorse of your landscape! Growing just 2-3 feet in height and width, these are wonderfully space-saving deciduous ornamentals!

Planting and Application:

You'll love having these small pink-flowering shrubs to brighten up your landscape! Use at the front of a mixed garden bed and as edging or facer plants. The compact, mounding form makes it a perfect choice as a border, low hedge, or accent piece in your garden! If you are looking for a way to tie all your garden plantings together, simply use this easy shrub in each bed.

Pink Paradise is a great filler in mixed borders or places where you need some color. You'll adore the cheerful, pretty pink flowers. They work nicely in a perennial garden or the Rock Garden, offering sunny flowers from late spring right into the fall! It would be great to plant at the very start of a garden path. Plant on either side of special garden sculptures. Wherever you put it, you'll draw your visitor's eye!

These would look especially terrific as a mass planting on a hard-to-mow hillside or as a decorative border along your garden shed. Plant multiples in a gentle zig-zag or curve in front of larger shrubs or evergreen trees. Everyone has one of those spots in the garden that is hot and dry, and nothing seems to do very well. Great for xeric-scaping and fire-wise landscapes alike!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Low-maintenance Potentillas, also known as Bush Cinquefoil, are sun and part shade-loving deciduous shrubs. You'll get more flowers in more sun. Plant in any kind of well-drained soil with moderate moisture and fertility, plus a layer of mulch over the soil surface. Happy Face® is a hardy shrub once established, tolerating both drought and salt. It's a friend to wildlife (with its dense nature and bright flowers), but deer tend to pass it by. It is best to prune in late winter to keep your shrubs neat and tidy.

  • Full Sun
  • Highly Adaptable to any Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate to Low Moisture Needs Once Established
