Yews have long been loved for their tolerance to shearing. But this spreading cultivar stays low and removes much of the time involved with this task.
- These well-behaved landscape shrubs are incredibly versatile. In fact, some gardeners never prune them at all to enjoy the fluffy, organic shape "au natural".
- Run them behind your patio seating for an easy-care, sophisticated screen. Then pop a few taller shrubs like Crape Myrtle, Lilac or Viburnum behind them...placing them just where you need the most coverage for privacy.
- Add valuable year-round texture to shrub borders with a facing hedge of Dark Green Spreader Yew. Space them three feet apart on center; measuring from the center of one to the center of the next.
- On larger properties, you can create a mass planting to fill a bare area with restful dark green hues and tolerance to salt. Stagger additional rows behind the first; then mulch between the bushes.

Plant Taxus hybrid in any sun condition...from full sun to partial shade or shade. It will tolerate clay and acidic soils if they are well-drained.

- Help the roots get established during the first season, by watering carefully on a consistent schedule. Touch the soil near the base of the shrub daily and apply water as it starts to get dry.
- Shear in early spring and touch up in mid-summer, if needed. Add a three-inch layer of mulch over the base of the shrub, then pull it back away from touching the stems.

Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
