Ever So Perfect Raspberry Wine Bee Balm

  • Gorgeous Raspberry Colored Flowers
  • Attracts Pollinators
  • Long Bloom Time
  • Incredibly Disease Resistant
  • Loves Full and Partial Sun

The Raspberry Wine Bee Balm (Monarda didyma 'Raspberry Wine'), also known as Bergamont, Horsemint, or Oswego Tea, is a clump-forming perennial that has tubular, two-lipped, raspberry flowers with dark green, aromatic foliage.

The 'Raspberry Wine' puts forth its gorgeous blooms from July to August. If deadheaded, (removal of dead flowers from plants) even longer bloom times will be encouraged. Both the flowers and foliage are fragrant, and ideal for potpourri.

A fast growing variety, the Raspberry Wine will grow quite quickly, so it's a good idea to divide the plant every few years, for best results.

This magnificent plant does best when planted in full or partial sun, and will tolerate afternoon shade well. The leaves of your plant can be used for teas and in salads.

Raspberry Wine Bee Balms are best grown in rich soil in a well-drained area, not being allowed to dry out. This plant prefers neutral to alkaline soils, but isn't too fussy overall.

This variety is particularly attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators, especially when massed, but is also deer and rabbit resistant. This Bee Balm is also a disease and mildew resistant variety.

This carefree Raspberry Wine Bee Balm provides color and contrast for the perennial border, wild garden, meadow, herb garden or along ponds or streams. It can handle that moist growing location where other plants may struggle.
