Enjoy Lovely Blooms Twice a Year!

Smaller yards mean more demanding homeowners.

There just simply isn't enough space to devote to a "one trick pony" that may only offer visual interest one season a year. Luckily, with the Autumn Blooming Cherry (Prunus subhirtella 'Autumnalis') - you can plant a beautiful flowering cherry tree that blooms beautifully in early spring, and often produces another lighter set of flowers in the fall.

This wonderful, fast growing variety is a perfect addition to your yard and has many unique qualities. We call this a hard-working "4 Season" tree, because it always give your something fabulous to look at in your landscape.

The Autumn Cherry can flower on and off during the milder fall and winter months, but the real show happens in the spring. When the leaves emerge in the spring the Autumn Cherry will positively shine - as masses of dark pink buds flower into clouds of semi double, soft pink flowers that slowly turn a show-stopping, pure white.

All summer, you'll enjoy the shade of the textured, oval leaves as they flutter in the slightest breeze. In the fall, the Autumn Cherry will brighten your landscape with an ombre display of bronze to yellow gold leaves, touched here and there with brilliant red.

Small, black cherries develop that will attract songbirds to your yard in the fall and winter. Adding wildlife plants layers deeply meaningful bird sound and motion into your landscape design.

After it drops its leaves, you may be delighted to see an additional round of blooms as other plants are beginning to go dormant for the winter.

Finally, in winter, you'll get to appreciate the sculptural good looks of the branch structure. We'd recommend that you plant this near a window, so you can enjoy the view from a cozy chair when it's cold outside.

No matter where you plant it, you will be proud to share this tree with friends and family as one of the varieties enjoyed at the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC each year.

Please note that Nature Hills complies with all federal, state and local regulations for live plant materials, and this plant may not be available for regional sale.
