The National Audubon Society presents a new line of native plants and trees that will help birds and wildlife thrive in your area! The Audubon® Native Dwarf Chestnut Oak Tree (Quercus prinoides) is everything you love about the Chestnut Oak, but in a smaller space-saving size!

Erect trees with open and rounded forms, these retain the oval foliage and scalloped edges like other Chinkapin Oak tree relatives! Creating a beautiful featurette and textured specimen in the landscape. Dwarf Chestnut Oaks, also known as Dwarf Chinquapin Oak, and Dwarf Chinkapin, displays soothing, warm browns, coppers, golden-yellow fall color!

Like other Oaks, Dwarf Chestnut hosts hundreds of butterfly and moths caterpillars, as well as the birds that feed on them. Attracting Cardinals, Grosbeaks, Wrens, Woodpeckers, Sparrows, Thrushes, Orioles, Waxwings, Nuthatches, Finches, Mockingbirds, Thrashers, Crows, Jays and Vireos. Autumn brings a good crop of blackish-brown to coppery acorns each year that wildlife love!
