The alluring blooms, easy-care nature, and lovely looks of the hardy Apricot Drift® Rose Tree (Rosa 'Meimirrot') are easy to forget! Especially when this gorgeous Tree Rose is absolutely covered in large sprays of frilly, double, apricot blooms! Free-flowering from spring through fall, this grafted Drift® Rose tree is sure to be the finishing touch to your landscape!
The lush flowers offer a depth of color that changes with the light and the age of the flowers. Each with 30 - 35 petals per bloom, much like you would find in the pouty, old-fashioned English Roses. Only this Apricot Drift® Tree Rose is elevated closer to your nose and to eye level on a 2-3 foot tall standard trunk! Take time to study these pretty plants, and you'll see apricot, peach, and pink tones on the same plant. It's a magnificent display when paired with all the pollinators and other beneficial insects that arrive to also admire the blooms!
The deep, dark-green leaves are the perfect backdrop for those phenomenal apricot and pink flowers! The disease-resistant foliage stays clean and attractive and the straight trunk is strong and true. The flowers continue to develop flush after flush. Rose breeders have outdone themselves this time when they came up with the Drift® series! Displaying a season-long show of color. It is just as tough and disease resistant as others in the Drift® series.
Enjoy success with pretty Drift® Rose Trees. Like other Roses in the Drift® series, these billowing blooms won't fade. That's right, enjoy the brilliant shades for months! Drift® series are decidedly modern Rose bushes that have a great deal of disease resistance bred into them. They are extremely cold-hardy and can also tolerate an amazingly wide range of climates throughout USDA growing zones 4 to 11!
Turn heads with this amazing little hardy Rose Tree! If you're looking for a Rose that, quite literally, rises above the competition, the Apricot Drift® Rose tree is exactly what you need! All the classic beauty of the original Apricot Drift® shrub, now in tree form! Expertly grafted atop a straight and tall single trunk, they look more like weeping or cascading works of art! Staying compact and never leggy, these are incredible specimens and focal point plants!
These Rose blooms will emerge from lush deep green foliage that perfectly compliments the bright pinks. Both leaves and flowers sit on top of a standard, giving it the appearance of a small tree! Repeat them along the front of your shrub border or in a Rose garden to add height and curb appeal! We recommend including some foliage, along with the blooms for your cut flower arrangements.
Apricot Drift® Rose trees are perfect for small gardens, container gardens, enhancing a Cottage border, or Pollinator beds! The lovely blooms brighten up the garden, and add dramatic punctuation and sculptural accents anywhere in the sun! You'll be able to enjoy the blooms of your Apricot Drift® Rose Tree from spring until the first frost! Talk about getting bang for your buck! Sit back and relax as the subtle scent of Roses wafts across your garden.
Try adding this tree as a centerpiece in your front lawn garden. It's a real eye-catcher and will draw the attention of anyone who walks past! Let these charming (but rugged!) specimens accent anywhere sunny, in large containers on your patio or on either side of your entryway for a fantastic entrance. They take the heat like a champ! Include them in Rock Gardens and highlight a mailbox garden.
Fear not! Apricot Drift Rose Trees are very easy to care for! Adding one or two of these little trees ensures a stunning garden with little work. All Roses do best in full sun and favor morning sun especially to dry their leaves, these sun-lovers at least 6 hours of sunlight a day to bloom best. Roses need a moderate amount of water on a regular basis and appreciate being planted in enriched, well-drained soil that doesn't get soggy. You'll be delighted at the hardiness of Apricot Drift® Rose Tree! Its petals may look delicate but it's actually extremely winter hardy and, once established, the tree is actually quite drought-tolerant as well. Add a 3-4 inch thick layer of Mulch over the root system to keep it cool and moist. Give them a slow-release fertilizer in early spring and mid-summer to support producing all those pretty blooms.
Some winter protection for Tree Form Roses is suggested for the colder zones 5 and 6 and some of zone 7 too by overwintering in an unheated garage after it goes dormant, or outside with straw and burlap wrap. Then in spring, take it back out or unwrap it. just as it begins to grow again in spring.
Early each spring, after the last frost of the year has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back Drift® Roses each early spring, and trim the head back to about a 12" sphere to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. Throughout the summer, keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display and prune away suckers and branching that forms at the base or on the trunk each year too. You can plant Drift® Roses any time if you are able to provide enough consistent moisture and attention. While there is not a specific month that is best, generally because it changes with temperatures, climate and growing zone. However, the easiest times of the year to get Rose bushes established in your landscape are in spring after the last frost date, and in fall about 4-6 weeks before the first frost.
