#ProPlantTips for Care

Skeeter's Broom Japanese Maple prefers a cool, rich, well drained soil. Ideally, this plant loves morning sunlight with light or filtered shade from the hot afternoon sun - especially in the warmer climates.

A 3-4 inch layer of wood chips over the root zone of this plant does an excellent job of maintaining better moisture and keeping the soil cooler in summer, and also buffering the cold in winter. Always keep the mulch away from the stems of all plants by a few inches. Wood chips also does an excellent job of finishing the look of your landscape.

This compact plant needs little pruning unless you are trying to change the form of the plant or slightly reduce the size of a stem on occation. Late winter or early spring is a good time to do any pruning if needed.
An incredible, smaller growing Red Leaved Japanese with lots of character that would highlight any landscape. This one sells out every year.
