Red Gold Nectarine Tree
The most widely planted nectarine.
The Red Gold Nectarine ('Prunis persica nucipersica') is a yellow freestone nectarine. It produces large fruit with a beautiful blush red skin covering its firm, juicy flesh. Although the Red Gold Nectarine is a small tree with a mature height of 12-14 feet it puts on quite a show through the seasons.
As with all Nectarine cultivars, the Red Gold does not require cross pollination. It will bear fruit with its own pollen.
The Red Gold Nectarine will thrive in full sun and you will be amazed by the abundant harvest in mid-summer. Perfect for eating right off the tree and a top choice for desserts. They're also great for canning and freezing.
Imagine impressing your friends and family with nectarine salsa or add freshly picked nectarines to a salad - perfect on hot summer days.
In the spring you will be stunned by the fragrance and beauty when its branches are covered by gorgeous clusters of hot pink flowers. In the summer your Red Gold Nectarine tree will be weighted down with mouth watering fruit waiting to be harvested, against a lovely back drop of shiny deep green leaves.
Finally, in the fall your Red Top Nectarine will brighten your yard with its brilliant yellow leaves.
The Red Top Nectarine is a great addition to any yard.
