Double blooms on a Redbud?! You got it! Introducing the Pink Pom Poms Redbud (Cercis canadensis 'Pink Pom Poms')! Redbuds are already unique with their tightly bunched bright pink blooms that sprout from red buds in the early spring. But Pink Pom Poms goes further by doubling up (even triple to quadruple) on the pea-like petals that are grouped right against every stem and branch on your tree for a unique display!

After the hummingbird and bee-friendly blooms are done, the rest of the tree fills out in waving heart-shaped bright green foliage for the rest of the growing season! Between the pompom-like display and lovely foliage, you'll absolutely love this tree!

This Redbud tree is hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 9 and grows to a wonderful canopy 12-18 feet in height and width! These spring flowering deciduous trees are easy to grow and brighten your landscape with show-stopping unique blooms! Don't worry about seedlings because this very special variety does not produce the seedpods that other Redbuds can!

Planting and Application:

This tree is a shocker! Add this fantastic new specimen to your front yard planting to attract all the curious onlookers in the neighborhood. Take out some of the boring lawn and create a specimen berm to show off this focal point! Underplant with living mulch or groundcover to really show it off and provide color for the rest of the year! Have fun with this accent tree by planting a row along the front of your property or along a driveway for a gorgeous drive home!

Fantastic little anchors and accents in the garden bed, where Pink Pom Poms will lightly shade smaller shrubs and perennials. Accent a Zen garden by situating one to reflect in a pond, or adorn a seating area with its flouncy blooms! Pollinator gardens gain an early spring burst of nectar-rich blooms! These trees arrive with their lower branches intact for airy screening hedgerows or to add early spring color to privacy hedges! Or 'limb up' to create a single-trunk specimen tree.

  • Pompoms of Bright Pink Double Flowers
  • Bright Green Heart-Shaped Leaves
  • Mid-Sized Tree & Airy Canopy
  • Unique Pollinator-Friendly Accent
  • Front Yard Specimen, Focal Points, Showy Spring Display

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant these deciduous trees in well-drained soil. Give them plenty of regular water, especially when young and in drier climates. Tolerant of part shade and full sun, these understory trees need regular watering to get them established.

In USDA hardiness zone 8 and 9, Redbuds benefit from the morning sun and protection from the hot afternoon sun giving them a good layer of arborist mulch, at least 4 inches of wood chips spread to 3 feet outside of the canopy of the tree. Prune to remove winter dieback and ensure there's plenty of air circulation to help prevent verticillium wilt, canker, or other diseases in the late winter, and prune to shape and shorten limbs after the spring blooms fade.

Be patient with young trees and small trees. Oftentimes, they are slow to send out leaves in spring, so give them time.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade
  • Moderate Regular Moisture Needs
  • Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Appreciates Mulch
  • Prune Late Winter or Early Spring

Bring in the spring cheer team with the Pink Pom Poms Redbud tree now available at! You and everyone on the block will benefit from these fantastic new specimens!
