Ginger Wine Ninebark
Simple spring to autumn color!
It is great when a busy gardener finds a plant that really doesn’t need any fussing over to look its best. Ginger Wine Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius) provides the busy gardener with spring to autumn color and you don’t have to lift a finger!
Ginger Wine takes the already pretty color palette of the native ninebark family and expands on it. In spring the first flush of leaves comes out sunny orange. As the summer approaches the foliage matures to a lush burgundy. In late spring clusters of white flowers cover the plant and age through the season to sparkling red seed heads that the birds love. As the fall approaches the leaves deepen to purple-red before they drop for the winter exposing the attractive peeling bark that ninebarks are known for.
This plant is naturally graceful and arching and doesn’t need deadheading or pruning. It maintains its lovely form year after year without any work needed by you!
You’ll want to give this native a sunny spot for best color and plenty of room to stretch out its roots and it will grow to a full 6’ tall in a couple of seasons.
Let Ginger Wine make it look like you spend hours tending the garden (without spending hours actually doing it). Order yours today!
