Easy-care, Northern Gold requires full sun and lots of room to grow. Although Forsythia is drought tolerant once established, you should still provide periodic supplemental water. This is especially important during extended periods of hot, dry weather. Add a 3-4 inch layer of mulch to keep the root systems cool and moist, especially in warm winter zones.
