This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 5-9
Maximize your property with the rugged beauty and utility of the renowned Sawtooth Oak Tree (Quercus acutissima)! This precocious selection grows quickly as a young tree, and starts producing an oval-shaped acorn mast very early in life.
Unique leathery leaves give the Sawtooth its name. Long, lustrous, and serrated … Sawtooth foliage starts spring bright yellow. Young trees grow quickly when young and form a full, yet pyramidal shape. Over time, the Sawtooth Oak tree takes on a rounded canopy as it reaches maturity.
Over the summer, the leaves turn dark green and provide a shaded spot for birds to shelter. As temperatures dip, the golden-yellow fall color brings another feature to your landscape. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 5-9, these are wildly adaptable trees that have naturalized here in the US!
Landscape Application:
Impressive shade trees in their own right, a Sawtooth Oak in your large front or backyard becomes an outdoor garden room on its own! Its wide limbs spread and cast cooling shade over large areas, so set up your seating areas and outdoor dining rooms beneath them.
Oaks also bring game birds like turkey and quail. Include Sawtooth Oak as a special species in a mixed planting. We're pleased to offer these high-impact trees to include in your diverse plantings. Deer adores the acorns, and Sawtooth Oak starts delivering quickly.
Create a wildlife sanctuary or food forest by creating groves Plant them 20 feet apart on center, measuring from the center of one to the center of the next. Sawtooth is a native of Asia but has been widely planted and enjoyed in the United States for nearly 150 years.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant your Oak tree in an area where it will get full sun all day, from the first day until its 100th year. During the first season, pay close attention to watering. Use the finger test and poke down into the soil near the roots. Protect your investment with a consistent watering schedule until your tree is established, then after the roots are established in your soil, you can periodically saturate the whole area to encourage deep roots.
Fertilize in spring with a formula for trees or a good general slow-release formula. Follow application rates on the label. Prune in late winter while your tree is dormant. Correct the branch structure while your tree is young for best results.
- Easy-Care Full Sun Trees
- Well-Drained Soil - Widely Adaptable
- Moderate Moisture - Tolerates Low & High Moisture Environments
- Prune When Dormant
- Near Yearly Mast Production - Acorns Drop in Early Season
