Palmetto® St. Augustine Grass is sold by the tray, with 70 plugs in each tray, so coverage will depend on how close you plant them. Recommended spacing is 6 to 12 inches. St. Augustine plugs are Easy to Install. Irrigate the ground thoroughly several days ahead of planting, then maintain soil moisture consistently afterward. Apply a light amount of organic fertilizer. Install by punching 1-inch holes in the ground. We recommend planting the plugs one foot apart. Gently remove the plugs from the tray by pushing them up from the bottom. Do not PULL them from the top as this may damage the roots.
