Willow - Curly Locks, Salix caprea ‘Curly Locks', is also known a weeping pussy willow. Curly Locks grows into a small weeping tree with branches that are twisted into odd angles and its leaves curl tightly. The white catkins fade in the spring to a yellow as they mature and can be used for floral arrangements. Trim plant back by half annually each spring, after catkins mature. The contorted branches undulate prior to ‘falling over’. This pussy willow grows in sun or shade in any soil provided it is not dry. Curly Locks is an ideal tree for the small garden or can be planted in a pot on the patio.
