How to Use Western Star™ Leo Shasta Daisy In The Landscape

Daisies are fantastic additions to Perennial plantings, Cottage gardens and Cutting gardens. The ease with which they attract butterflies makes them ideal in Pollinator and Naturalized plantings and modern Prairie plantings.

Fantastic additions to Rock gardens and in plantings along roadsides or on property edges where they’ll receive less attention. Don’t worry about the deer or rabbits however, they’ll leave these alone unless desperate.

Sized right for small gardens and borders, mid-sized perennials like these also work as edging along hot, sunny paths and even in patio containers. Add sunny faces around your porch and balcony, or greet guests with pots of cheery blooms by your entry.

Fantastic gift plants, these perennials certainly say, “welcome home”! You’ll adore these blossoms both indoors and out since they are long-lasting flowers in both the garden as they are in the bouquet and floral arrangement!

#ProPlantTips For Care

Hardy in USDA growing zones 4 through 9, these are very heat and cold tolerant herbaceous perennial plants! Preferring the full sun, provide your Shasta Daisy at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day for best results.

Requiring moderate, yet consistent moisture, these can be drought tolerant once established. A great low-water usage plant, these can be very drought tolerant. However, for the best health of your plant and the most blooms, ensure regular waterings throughout a prolonged drought.

Adaptable to a wide range of soil types, any excellently well-drained soil with average fertility will do Shasta Daisy just fine. A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill.

Encourage blooms returning all summer and into autumn with regular deadheading to remove spent flowers, otherwise, Shasta Daisies are incredibly low maintenance. Very adaptable and easy to grow, you’ll wonder why you didn’t plant a few sooner!
