The Verbena Taylortown Red PP9270, 'Verbena Hybrida 'L. Archer' is a free-flowering tender plant that is both heat and drought tolerant. It spreads with its creeping, rooting stems; produces large, fragrant clusters of bright red flowers. Use Taylortown Red as a colorful dense groundcover or foreground plant. The flowers, along with its attractive toothed foliage, trail over walls or from hanging baskets. It is long blooming - from summer to fall, and it attracts butterflies.

The verbena performs best in well-drained soil for rock gardens or edging. This plant is drought tolerant once established. It can be divided in the spring or fall. Shear mid-to late summer to promote a new flush of flowers into fall. Cut the plant back by one-quarter with a pair of shears. Verbena plants begin blooming again three weeks after pruning,
