They flower all summer, requiring only a bit of deadheading to keep more blooms returning. Hardy outdoors year-round in USDA growing zones 8 through 11 but can be enjoyed as either annual accents in all growing zones. Canna can also be lifted and stored for the winter in a frost-free location in all northern climates.

Planting and Application:

Either way, you will gain a ton of curb appeal! Pot up around seating areas, the barbecue pit, or on the balcony for vivid color!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

These full-sun rhizomatic plants do best in moderately moist to almost wet enriched soil, which should always well-drained. It is also a good idea to ensure that Canna has a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch over the surface. Provide regular fertilizer and deadhead when blooming is done. Canna rhizomes are not frost-hardy and do need to be dug in the fall before they freeze. Keep them in a cool, frost-free area in a bag in a garage or shed.
