Not everyone is lucky enough to live in a climate where they can grow one of the most enchanting fruits of North America! The Tropic White Guava Tree (Psidium guajava 'Tropic white') is both splendid in appearance and in fruit flavor! This sweet and slightly acidic variety seems to glow in the sun.

The Tropic White receives its name from its white flesh. These Guavas have bright yellowish-green peels and creamy white meat. While this variety has slightly larger, chewable seeds than some others, it does have balanced sweetness and the largest fruit. This variety can produce fruit between 3 and 4-inches in size!

When summer arrives, the Tropic White Guava will gift you with pleasant white flowers with fluffy white stamens and a sweet fragrance. While this self-fruiting tree doesn't need a partner for pollination, pollinators like bees and butterflies love these flowers.

Filling out with lovely bright green leaves, each with a serrated edge, these sturdy trees feature mottled bark and wonderful canopy shapes.

How does the Tropic White Guava compare to other Guava varieties? Begining by fruiting early in life - as young as one year old. If you like a tree that is super fertile and produces a large crop, then the Tropic White Guava is a great choice for you!

High in Vitamin C, Tropic White features smooth pulp and is sweeter than other Guava varieties. It also emits a pleasantly powerful sweet scent.

You’ll achieve a much larger crop per tree if you do plant your Guava with other varieties, but a single tree produces enough for you and your family with loads of amazing fruit!

How to Use Tropic White Guava Tree In The Landscape

Making a lovely specimen tree that provides a puddle of shade over garden beds and patios. Its medium green, thick leaves make it an ideal choice for a location near the edge of your yard.

Use the Tropic White to treat yourself to a fruiting and flowering background hedge! These are shrubby plants with branching all the way to the ground, making them fantastic for privacy and screening!

Use for property definition along the sides of your yard by planting in rows of fruiting hedgerows and privacy! Screen off your home from the street with a grouping of these fantastic ornamentals!

You can also prune off the lower branches to expose the mottled stems, creating a wonderful canopy and accent tree. Plant as glowing focal points for foundation plantings and side yards, softening the corners of your home or garage beautifully!

The fruit is excellent for a wide range of recipes both sweet and savory! Flavor water and drinks, create sauces, jams and jellies, or you can add this sweet-tart Citrus to about any fruit salad and churn it into ice cream and gelato! The small seeds are entirely edible and do not take away from the flavor!

#ProPlantTips For Care

To keep your Guava happy, plant it in a sunny spot in your yard. These sub-tropical trees do their best in the United States growing zones 9 through 11 where they thrive in the heat and humidity of the climate. Provide a sheltered location that is protected from any possible chill.

The Tropic White Guava does best in subtropical conditions. It prefers moderately moist soil and adapts to a wide variety of soil types. They can survive short drought conditions but enjoy regular watering.

Prune after fruiting to maintain size or to remove damaged and crossing limbs. You can keep these trees smaller to allow for easier harvest and to hold this tree to a size suitable for containers and planters!

Growers in cooler climates can keep these trees on the patio for the summer, or houseplants with success. Be sure to provide enriched soil that is very well-drained, and be sure there are adequate drainage holes in your pot. Water just enough to maintain a consistently moist environment that drys out slightly between waterings. As with most Citrus, these dislike a soggy environment.

Keep in as much full sun as possible both indoors and out, moving indoors at any threat of a chill, or you can keep these in a greenhouse setting wonderfully!

Provide regular applications of fertilizer for fruit trees a few times a year will keep your tree happy! Guava fruits are ripe in early fall, so get ready!

The tender skin of the Guava makes it hard to find in fruit markets and stores. And here’s nothing quite like homegrown fruit, the flavor and quality are unparalleled! So, if you love the flavor of this tropical fruit, buy the Tropic White Guava Tree today at NatureHills.com!
