Snow White Flowering Dogwood
Fast Growing Ornamental with Huge Flowers!
Cornus florida ‘Cherokee Princess’, Snow White Flowering Dogwood is an early blooming selection with wildly showy and huge four-inch flower bracts in April and May. The early, massive flower display does not disappoint, even on young plants!
Young Cherokee Princess trees after the first season will grow rapidly and fill in nicely developing into a neat, smaller specimen for your yard. Upright, smaller tree when young, but still developing that neat flat topped, horizontally branched trees with age. Usually getting about 20’ x 20’ when mature.
The dark green leaves are lighter beneath, but in fall turn an incredible and consistent red-purple. The younger stems are a purplish color during the growing season.
Small, bright red fruits are produced in clusters of 3 or 4 and ripen in September and October. The birds adore them and usually take them right after they ripen, or they will fall once ripe.
Cherokee Princess prefer a well-drained, acidic soil with lots of organic matter and good moisture – you will have excellent success for many years. Full sun to partial shade is best, with a mulched root zone and additional moisture during the drier spells will keep your plant very happy.
For a smaller ornamental tree that is fast growing, you can’t go wrong with the Snow White Flowering Dogwood. It has a lot to offer. They’re hard to find in garden centers & we usually sell these out fast. Order yours today!
