The Sedum 'Purple Emperor', also known as Stonecrop, has dark purple, almost black leaves with compact purple stems. In the summer, they are topped with heads of pinkish, purple flowers and a plant height of 15” and a spread of 12-23”. This charming and colorful plant is wonderful in any landscape.

This amazing sedum ‘Purple Emperor’ was awarded the Outstanding Perennial Plant Award from the International Hardy Plant Union in 2002.

Sedum 'Purple Emperor' needs to be planted in full sun in well-drained soil. It will tolerate most soil types and is drought resistant. For a wonderful fall display, plant with asters or coneflowers.

'Purple Emperor' lets you create a great cut bouquet with its flat-topped flower heads, and it is a wonderful choice for beds and borders. If you are searching for a plant that attracts butterflies and bees, this plant is for you.
