Roscoea Cinnamon Stick, Roscoea purpurea 'Cinnamon Stick', is a relative of the ginger family and has lance-shaped leaves. It produces gorgeous lavender orchid-like flowers in late summer and is stunning in the shady woodland garden; has a clumping, rhizomatous habit.

‘Cinnamon Stick’ has blood red stems that ascend to bronzed leaves that are attractive all season long; native to the mountain regions of eastern Asia. ‘Cinnamon Stick’ prefers humus rich moist soil in a cool sheltered site; will go dormant if soil dries out and is not recommended for areas with hot humid summers.

This purple Roscoea is a stunner in a container or planted at water’s edge. If you like orchids, we recommend this 'Cinnamon Stick' that produces orchid-like flowers that are a lavender color. Use it as a tropical element or in mixed shade beds.

Exhibiting an impressive and stunning tropical display as a container plant, 'Cinnamon Stick' also offers a bit of tropical finery for you when planted in a shaded border.
