Rhododendron Scintillation

Out of stock
Rhododendron - Scintillation, Rhododendron x 'Scintillation', is a famous Dexter hybrid that is a vigorous, wide growing shrub with extra thick stems! In the spring large trusses of luminous pink flowers appear, each with a yellowish flare. Scintillation has attractive and distinctive, wavy, shiny, deep green foliage; thrives best when planted in part shade. This is a dense-growing, small evergreen shrub that is valued for its large trusses of showy flowers; very effective as an accent. Scintillation prefers cooler regions but needs some protection from winter wind. It requires regular waterings, particularly in hot, dry weather; established plants can benefit from fertilization. Rhododendrons are ornamental, acidic-soil loving broad-leaf evergreens and are ideal for shrub borders and informal hedges. The most favorable time to prune is when there are no flower buds in the early spring, just before growth begins.
