Rhododendron Boule de Neige

Out of stock
Rhododendron - Boule de Neige, Rhododendron 'Boule de Neige', is a dependable broadleaf evergreen shrub that is bathed in clusters of delicate white blooms in spring that gives the appearance of snow. (Boule De Neige means “ball of snow” in French and sometimes this shrub is referred to as the ‘ball of snow’ rhododendron!) The plant’s constitution is tough, very hardy, and forms a compact domed shape. It is similar in appearance to 'Cunningham's White', but it has broader leaves and its flower clusters are denser. This plant even blooms in deep shade! The foliage on this rhododendron is large and light green in color. Boule De Neige is slow growing, mounded in shape, and easy to grow. It requires regular waterings, particularly in hot, dry weather and needs moist, well drained acidic soil high in organic matter. Plant it in spring or fall where winter damage is no hazard; otherwise, plant it only in spring. Use in mass, group or specimen for shrub borders, mixed borders, woodland gardens and shade gardens.
