Plant in native prairie and meadow gardens where Echinacea Pretty Parasols updates the tired garden color palette!

And when it's not in bloom, its lance-shaped foliage will keep your garden green and lively! Providing a great backdrop that sets off your other Perennial plantings and Mixed-shrub borders whether in bloom or not.

#ProPlantTips For Care

For best results, plant in full sun in a well-drained area. Pretty Parasol Gray Coneflower is a full sun-loving herbaceous perennial. Any hot sunny garden plot is fantastic for these long-lasting blooms!

Reaching about 3 feet in height at maturity, Coneflower forms dense clumps of mounded foliage that stays put where it’s planted. Not particular on soil type, any well-drained soil that's been enriched with compost and mulched is best.

This tough plant is drought tolerant once established but will perform its best with medium moisture soil that drains very well. Use a raised bed, or grow them in containers if you have poorly drained soil that retains water for a long time.

Divide clumps when they become overcrowded, about every 4 years. Echinacea is known for its large flower heads that go to seed in the fall. Pretty Parasol Gray Coneflower usually reblooms after some deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improves general appearance.

If you leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall, their seeds provide winter food for songbirds. You can enjoy the dried seed heads as well because they will provide architectural interest in the winter.

Our native Echinacea varieties do great throughout most of the country with very little care. Hardy in USDA growing zones 5 through 9, these are tough, vigorous Coneflowers tolerate even rookie gardeners.
