Manhattan Oriental Poppy features 4 to 6-inch, crepe paper-thin blooms, the satiny petals alive with bright fuchsia shades, and kissed with a splash of black at the base of the petals. The center of the overlapping petals hosts an otherworldly seed pod, its velvety stamens awash with shades of deep purple and a sprinkling of cream.
It’s a poppy that begs to be approached for a closer look, alight in brilliant color and ruffled texture. Even the foliage is a delight. The deeply-serrated, silver/green leaves providing accent to the delicate blossoms, held aloft on fuzzy stems that seem to drift on the slightest breeze.
