Tasty, handsome and healthy, the Monroe Avocado Tree (Persea americana 'Monroe') was found growing in Florida and has shown considerable cold hardiness compared to other varieties. Producing glossy, dark green to near black-skinned fruit late season, Monroe will be an ideal type B pollinator for your Avocado tree grove!
Sprays of light green flowers appear in umbels full of dainty star-shaped blossoms in the spring. Appearing on the ends of the branches, these give way to the iconic fruit. Your tree may be smothered in blossoms but only a few of these will be pollinated by bees and other beneficial pollinators.
Avocado fruit ripens on the tree late-season, often throughout the winter months. With the classic look of a dark-green, rough-skinned fruit and creamy green interior and tan seed, you’ll enjoy many healthy breakfast toasts, smoothies and savory dishes with these flavorful fruits!

If you don’t grow Avocado trees for their fruit, you’ll enjoy a fantastic glossy evergreen tree that is a great hedgerow, shelterbelt and windbreak tree, not to mention a beautiful specimen and ornamental accent! Avocado Tree care is pretty easy and similar to Citrus trees! They prefer their soil on the drier side and aren’t particular on the type. Any fertile, well-drained soil will due! Plant in full sun for the most blooms, with a pollinator partner type A for the most fruit. Prune to keep container-sized, or to control the shape and size, after fruiting.

Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
