Milly Rock™ Rose Yarrow

Availability: Out of stock

Rosy perennials that thrive in the heat, the Milly Rock™ Rose Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Milly Rock') is a gorgeous compact and mounding sun-loving flowering plant! Blooming all summer and fall, Milly Rock™ shoots up deep rose flat-topped blooms that are major pollinator magnets!

The dense clusters of incredibly fine-cut foliage looks lacy and frilly! A perfect deep green foil for the stems rising above it like nectar-rich landing pads for bees and butterflies. Named Achillea after Achilles, who used plant extracts to treat soldiers' wounds in the battle of Troy. Aromatic leaves, stems and flowers, Yarrow has long been used as a medicinal herb for centuries!

Milly Rock™ Rose Yarrow are cold-hardy perennials and can spread out once they are happy throughout USDA growing zones 4 and 9. Growing to a tidy mound 10-12 inches tall and wide! These xeric plants are not usually bothered by deer and rabbits!

Planting and Application:

Milly Rock™ Rose Yarrows are tough little plants and look pretty doing it! Tuck into Rock Gardens and hell strips along the road or sidewalk adding its lacy finery and rosy tones to the trickiest of full sun locations. Perennial and wildflower gardens and pollinator borders are some of the choices locations for this vigorous mid to late-season bloom. Even container gardeners on patios, balconies, and courtyards can enjoy Milly Rock™!

Rose Yarrow looks great in bouquets and are must-haves for the cut flower garden! Go ahead and snip blooms to your heart's content, because that encourages reblooming until frost in many areas! Use these spreading, low-growers as edging and filler throughout the sun garden bed and border! Mix and match with other sun perennials or even other Yarrow for a delightful late-season display! Yarrows won't burn in the event of a fire, making them a definite must-have for defensible space planting in any firewise landscape.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant easy-to-grow Rose Yarrow in full sun and in well-drained soil, tolerating both poor and enriched soil. These Yarrow will tolerate partial shade but you'll miss out on the dense growth and a few blooms in anything less than 6 hours of sun a day. In hotter climates of zones 8 and 9, they will appreciate a bit of shady relief from the hot summer sun. Water just enough to support new plants and you can back on moisture but can provide moisture throughout the summer in the heat. Once established, these are drought-tolerant and heat-loving flowering perennials. Add 3-4 inches of mulch over the soil surface to hold in moisture and keep the roots cool. Trim back the plants after flowering to encourage more blooms, then clean mounds in the fall. Yarrow will spread quickly so it is a good idea to divide the plants every two years or so.

  • Full Sun & Some Part Shade
  • Well-Drained Soil
  • Deadhead After Bloom & Prune Down in Late Fall
  • Deer & Rabbit Resistant
  • Drought Tolerant & Firewise
