Bright, cherry red and pink blossoms are edged in white, with a spattering of pink speckles. This variety was created specifically to bloom flowers facing upward, instead of drooping, hence the name. Oriental Lilies are super-easy to grow and do best in full to partial sunlight, with well-drained loamy or sandy soil. Provide moderate moisture that won't dry out or become soggy with a 3-4 inch layer of mulch around the bulbs. Deadhead the blooms right after they fade and leave several inches of leafy stalks to make food for the bulbs for the rest of the growing season. In late autumn after frost, trim back the dead stems and cover loosely with compost or mulch.
