Even if your only outdoor space is a postage-sized balcony, you can grow your own incredible Lilac blooms. Gain that fabulous springtime scent and a much-needed season-long screening plant. Tiny Dancer Lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Elsdancer') stays small enough to be grown in outdoor containers! Frankly, it's just a perfect fit for modern lifestyles and smaller urban lots.

Tiny Dancer Lilac features a compact form that never gets leggy' and develops plenty of big blooms come spring! The stems are nice and strong, holding up the redolent blooms with graceful ease. These flowering panicles are highly sought after for cut flower arrangements and by bees and butterflies and even a hummingbird or two!

These satisfying blooms are show-stoppers! Each panicle is the length of your hand, with large florets that look very full. Nothing can compare with the sight and scent of Lilac bushes in your yard. Herald every spring with huge, 5-inch panicles of clustered lavender blossoms. Make happy memories! Plant Tiny Dancer™ from Nature Hills and appreciate their floriferous, indulgent scent every year.

Planting and Application:

We're so pleased to offer this especially fragrant variety. Place them anywhere you have plenty of sunshine. This compact Lilac delivers outstanding color and fragrance in a foundation planting. Try tucking a pair on either side of your front door. Imagine how nice it will be for your guests to savor their fragrance on entry!

Tiny Dancer™ makes a wonderful backdrop to a Butterfly Garden. Use them as a backdrop to highlight smaller, sun-loving perennials. Jazz up the look of your mature evergreens by making room for a few of these cuties! Separate the front yard from a sidewalk with the easy-going nature of Tiny Dancer™!

You can also create an outstanding short hedge with a long row of Tiny Dancers. Plant them two feet apart on center, measuring from the center of one to the next. Define your landscape, and accent your property line with their trim, showy good looks. Groupings in threes create pinpoint privacy and bird-friendly habitat.

Add plenty to cutting gardens. Don't forget to include sprays of the foliage, it's a perfect contrast to the blooms, after all. The blossoms make a durable cut flower and maintain their intense fragrance in any location. Place Tiny Dancer™ in containers at least 24-inches wide. Install a very modern effect with several containers spaced evenly along the length of your patio. What could be easier?

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Provide Tiny Dancer Lilac full sun, with at least six hours of direct light each day. The more sun - the more flowers! Air circulation is always a good idea for Lilacs and they must be planted in well-drained soil. Boost up your plants in an elevated planting bed, if your soil stays soggy. We recommend you give Lilacs a medium amount of water all season to protect your investment. This is especially true for shrubs grown in containers.

Add a three-inch layer of mulch over the root system. Then, pull it back away from touching the stems directly to provide proper air circulation. Use fertilizer for flowering shrubs according to the directions and avoid Lawn fertilizers which will reduce flowering, and should be kept away from your Lilac.

Prune after the blooms are done, and don't wait too long. These bloom on old wood, so trim promptly to avoid removing next year's flowers. Give these superior shrubs a place of honor in your landscape. You'll love them for a very long time, with proper care.

  • Easy Care in Full Sun
  • Moderate Consistent Moisture & Mulched Beds
  • Prune Immediately After Flowering
  • Very Cold Hardy & More Heat Tolerant Than Other Varieties

  • Best Lilac for the Warmer Zones to 8
