Bold yellow blossoms, the Klondyke Azalea bush (Rhododendron 'Klondyke') is a decorative shrub with bright blossoms. Look no further if you're seeking a head-turning display to end the cold season! Klondyke is an Azalea variety that knows how to put on a show!

Large, single blooms herald spring's arrival with a golden-yellow brilliance that's dazzling against the backdrop of its bronze-tinted, green foliage. The blossoms carry a soft scent as elegant and endearing as their lambent color. The dramatic yellow blossoms feature a darker patch of speckles on one petal. Forming in clusters atop strong stems, local butterflies and early emerging pollinators will be grateful for the nectar resource.

As spring progresses into summer, the leaves transition to their vibrant, full-green nature until the glossy, narrow leaves turn red for autumn. Klondyke Azalea is a deciduous shrub that will grow 6-8 feet tall with a 6-foot spread. It has an upright, spreading habit with a moderate growth rate.

Planting and Application:

Its dazzling, early spring bloom makes it a natural for borders or foundation plantings! Top your home's front garden with gilded blooms and lovely green foliage, sure to set your landscape off from all the rest! Large enough to be supreme hedges and privacy screens, rows, groupings and zigzagged banks of these low-maintenance shrubs. Not only shielding your yard from prying eyes but are also fantastic wildlife shelters.

Klondyke would be particularly stunning near your Zen or water garden! Brighten cottage gardens and are vivid backdrops for other garden beds and borders. Limb up the lowest branches to expose the multi-trunk form and create a unique small ornamental tree. Plant front and center in your front yard or as a special destination at the end of a pathway.
