Beautiful Spreading Kallay's Compact Juniper

  • Versatile in the Landscape
  • Mid-Sized, Feathery Evergreen Shrub
  • Easy Care
  • Adaptable

Everyone loves Junipers, and with good reason. These tough shrubs grow well in almost any home garden situation.

Kallay's Compact Junipers are bright green with a silvery colorcast all year long. They do not go off color during the winter months.

As an evergreen, the foliage is attractive year round and has a classic fresh scent when crushed. Unlike other Junipers, though, the needles of this variety are very soft to the touch.

Kallay's Compact Juniper (Juniperus x pfitzeriana 'Kallay's Compact') is a standout in the vast field of Junipers. It is the perfect mid-range size and is an excellent horizontal spreading plant.

Maybe you are familiar with old fashioned Junipers which were aggressive and large spreading plants overused for many decades. Well, forget about that!

This variety is a compact version of the old-fashioned Pfitzer Juniper. It will behave beautifully for you in your landscape.

You'll be excited at the silvery cast the green foliage takes on in full sun. Local birds will appreciate the silvery-blue berries.

What a great textural contrast to other vertical evergreens and perennials you might have in your garden now. Order today!

How to Use Kallay's Compact Juniper in Your Landscape

Use this as an easy care foundation plant or planted with several together as a large ground cover. These make great plantings in masses, so order one or order several.

If you have steep, dry, sunny slopes - this is an outstanding choice to use as a groundcover. Imagine a rugged swath of these plants used to perfection in full sun.... a much better option instead of having to mow grass (and a whole lot less dangerous!)

This is a fresh, modern plant with a ton of rough-textured, shaggy appeal. It is a great choice for rock gardens and as a low hedge.

#ProPlantTips for Care

These plants are very easy to grow. They tolerate almost any soil, including clay. Kallay's Compact Juniper makes a great city shrub too because it will handle air and street pollutants like a champ.

Keeping your Kallay's Compact Junipers looking fresh and natural is simple. Every once in awhile, you may want to shorten up some of the longest branches. Grab the end of the longest branches and trim that branch back into the body of the plant - removing a foot or more. This method of pruning will allow the plant to send out new shoots without sacrificing the natural, feathery form of this fantastic Juniper.
