Green Hornet Japanese Maple
The Japanese Maple Green Hornet, Acer pd. 'Green Hornet', is especially vigorous and features long, arching branches, finely dissected leaves, and excellent red and orange fall colors instead of the usual yellow. It is a fantastic tree that displays fine, deeply green leaves in the summer.
A beautiful cascading small tree, Japanese Maple ‘Green Hornet’ grows quickly when young, and forms a cascading mushroom-shaped mound, much wider than tall, and has a lacy appearance.
‘Green Hornet’ maple is unusually fast growing for a lace leaf maple. It can benefit greatly from pruning or training when young to get it started in the right direction.
This tree grows more vigorously than most Japanese laceleaf maples, is very easy to grow, and likes afternoon shade in warmer climates. It is best to feed it once a year with a slow release fertilizer.
Use this colorful Japanese Maple 'Green Hornet' in a container, entryway, as a focal point, or in landscape beds!
