If you have an appetite for stunning flowers that are dramatic but easy to grow, you will love the Honey Fruit Cocktail Tall Bearded Iris (Iris germanica 'Honey Fruit Cocktail'). This bright and glowing iris offers superior performance with rare and cheerful coloration.
As you may know, tall bearded irises are some of the best performing flowers you can find. And the Honey Fruit Cocktail Tall Bearded Iris is no exception. This tall stunner stands strong even when budding with near countless blossoms. And its blooms are impossible to ignore—they are remarkably voluminous and showy.
From its soft and fluttering yellow standards to the rich golden honey falls, Honey Fruit Cocktail Tall Bearded Iris flowers outshine standard flowers. With brilliant tangerine-orange beards with violet streaks and speckles over cream-colored throats, this fruit cocktail is a buffet of hues and ruffles.
These mid-spring blooms soar over the Honey Fruit Cocktail Tall Bearded Iris's medium-green foliage. And this vibrant perennial comes back year after year without much maintenance.
To make this sweet iris even tastier, it produces a sweet aroma that pollinators find irresistible. From hummingbirds to butterflies, this iris is a must-have if you want beneficial pollinators fluttering through your yard.
To keep this dazzling specimen shining its brightest, provide it with plenty of water when you first plant it. We recommend planting it in a mound to let the water run away quickly and leaving the top of the rhizome exposed (unless you live in a hot climate).
The Honey Fruit Cocktail Tall Bearded Iris performs best in full sun or partial sun, making it an ideal border plant or foundation plant. After established, this iris is drought-tolerant and enjoys medium or low-moisture with quick-draining soil.
Add some pizazz to your garden with a mixed border of iris and other vibrantly colored flowers. This mid-season bloomer pairs well with early-season and late-season bloomers. Plant some roadside for a welcoming vision for passerby and guests.
This Honey Fruit Cocktail is perfect for your potluck of outstanding flowers. Don't miss out on these massive blossoms, order yours today!
Bare root Iris are shipped as nice fresh cut divisions with two to three fans of green tops. Keep in mind each Iris variety can have slightly different sized roots.
When planting, make sure 1/3rd of the rhizome is exposed to sunlight with the roots buried underneath. Note, it's best to cover the rhizome with a thin layer of mulch or leaves to protect it during the coldest months but make sure to uncover in the spring.
