Let the moon hit your eye with the Luna™ White Hardy Hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos 'Luna White')! This perennial produces enormous, lunar white flowers that "pop" with a burgundy-pink eye! The blooms of Luna™ White are produced in mid to late summer, and attract a host of admirers in the form of Hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies galore!

Both the lush green leaves and exotic blooms show off the Hibiscus family trait, but don't underestimate the cold hardiness of these perennial plants! Hardy down to growing zone 4 and heat tolerant up to hardiness Zones 9, Hardy Hibiscus return with tropical splendor year after year!

Luna™ White grows on a compact, bushy plant that produces a large number of flowers that can grow to 8" in diameter, on a 2-3 foot tall and wide perennial bush. With such easy care and low-maintenance plants, you'll enjoy huge blooms with minimal work and effort on your part! It is sure to remain smothered completely in huge flowers, with new blossoms popping up all summer until frost!

Planting and Application:

The compact plant size is perfect for smaller gardens or large decorative containers and large planters, but these pots must be protected over winter to prevent the roots from freezing. Flank your home's entry or stand on either side of the entrance to a path. In the ground, these look great as accents, focal points in borders, anchors in garden beds, and along your home's foundation.

Unlike other Hibiscus that grow tall and need staking, Luna™ is compact and bushy, and rarely needs to be staked! Use a row as a low screen, as edging, or garden bed definition. Must-haves for the Moon garden, and romantic enough for the Cottage garden and pollinator border, but dramatic and exotic enough to use around your pool or seating areas with hardy Banana plants and other cold-tolerant tropical-looking beauties for a relaxing staycation and at-home island retreat!

  • Brilliant White Petals & Red Eye
  • Blooms All Summer
  • Smaller Compact Plant
  • Attracts Butterflies & Hummingbirds
  • Low Hedges, Containers & Specimen Plants

#ProPlantTips for Care:

These Rose Mallow relatives will die back to ground level during the winter months, so be patient, hardy Hibiscus can be slow to emerge in spring, sometimes one of the last perennials to emerge. For best performance, plant in full sun in moist soil before the heat of the summer. Grows well in any fertile, well-drained soil with ample moisture. Do not allow it to dry out to the wilting point, but be careful to not over-water until plants show signs of growth in the spring. Hardy Perennial Hibiscus needs little care once established, just Prune to the ground if the stalks die in winter and watch as new shoots erupt each spring.

  • Full Sun & Partial Shade For Strongest Stems
  • Moderate Moisture & Moist All Summer
  • Adaptable to Most Rich Well-Drained Soil Types
  • Prune To Ground Late Winter-Early Spring
  • Late to Emerge But Fast-Growing!
