Out of stock
Gooseberry Oregon Champion, Ribes hirtellum 'Oregon Champion', is a vigorous and productive fruitful shrub; gooseberry shrubs are a long-time European favorite. The berries are a great way to maintain good health since they contain vitamins A and D, and are high in vitamin C, as well as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, niacin, and dietary fiber. Gooseberry Oregon Champion produces medium to large, about ½ inch in diameter, yellowish-green berries that sweeten as they ripen. This gooseberry is easy to grow and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Rich in pectin, Oregon Champion berries are ideal for jams and jellies; but they can also be frozen for later use. They can also be eaten fresh, added to pancakes or scones, or dried as ‘raisins’
