Put a beautiful living flame to work lighting up your garden design with Golden Falls® Redbud (Cercis canadensis ‘NC2015-12’). This slim columnar candle really heats things up with an incredible display all year-long!

Even in winter, the narrow weeping habit will catch your eye. But it starts to truly shine in early spring with bare branches laden with electric lavender-pink blooms.

Planting and Application:

As the season emerges, heart-shaped leaves emerge tipped with orange. In the full heat of summer, Golden Falls Redbud foliage illuminates to a colorfast golden-yellow that gleams in full sun or part shade.

  • Like a living exclamation point,Golden Falls adds emphasis to landscape features. Plant a sentry pair flanking either side of your front doorway...they are excellent conversation starters!
  • Wend several of them in a serpentine line to add a little "pop" of whimsy in your life. Perhaps on the way to a child's playhouse?
  • Repeat them along the length of a mixed garden border. Choose between even spacing or syncopated, varied spacing between the trees—either way delivers a sophisticated edge to the design.
  • Use a row of them as a backdrop for Hydrangea, Hosta and Heuchera. Place a hammock nearby and breathe a big sigh of relief after a tough day.
  • Golden Falls Redbud makes a spectacular focal point in a Zen Garden or balcony Yoga studio. This makes a wonderful treatment for small space gardens!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Your Redbud tree will do best in a planting site with rich soil that drains well after a rainfall. Add a three-inch layer of pine bark mulch spread out to several feet past the canopy.

  • Plant Golden Falls Redbud in either full sun or partial shade with at least four hours of light a day.Keep them evenly moist with a regular schedule of supplemental water, especially in dry weather.
  • Use symbiotic Nature Hills Root Booster in the planting hole for life-long support that never "wears out". Get expert planting tips from the NatureHills.com Horticulture team.
  • You'll rarely need to prune this slender selection. Prune to shape after the spring flowers are finished for the season.
