Goldblitz Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldblitz') is an early-flowering burst of sable and gold that arrives on the garden scene a full 3 weeks earlier than other Rudbeckias! Goldblitz is smaller and has shiny green leaves instead of the scratchy coarse foliage common among other Black-Eyed Susan.

Goldblitz forms tidy neat mounds of pointed green foliage and waves of cheerful blossoms that attract Bees, Butterflies, and Hummingbirds, plus birds and beneficial insects! Black-Eyed Susans have pompom spikey balls of seeds in the fall that songbirds like Goldfinches. If the birds don't eat them, you'll have fall and winter interest peeking out in the snow.

Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9, these plants grow 18-24 inches in height when in bloom, and 15-18 inches wide. Want more of a reason to fill your landscape with Rudbeckia? These hardy plants are Deer and Rabbit resistant, drought-tolerant, water and driving rain-resistant, heat and frost-tolerant, and very low maintenance!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Black–Eyed Susans are easy to care for and they prefer full sun and well-drained soil. Plant these Perennials in enriched soil and we do recommend that you protect your investment in extended drought by applying supplemental water as needed. Elevate them in a raised bed, or grow them in containers if you see puddles that remain a long time after a rainfall. Mulch over the root system to further protect your plants year-round. Deadhead blooms early in the season to encourage new blooms, but leave late summer blooms for bird food and winter interest. Divide clumps once they get too wide. You'll expand your planting, and keep your plants vigorous and in tip-top shape.

  • Full Sun For The Most Blooms
  • Moderate Moisture Needs & Low Once Established
  • Needs Very Well-Drained Soil
