Enchanting Forever Pink Phlox (Phlox ‘Forever Pink’ PP# 24,918) creates a perfect puff-ball of light-hearted color for weeks in early summer. Purple-pink flowers fully cover these compact, well-branched perennials that start blooming just as the welcome spring blooms of Moss Phlox are finishing up.

Forever Pink looks great all season-long, with light repeat blooming through frost. Even the dense, upright habit and yellow-toned foliage is bandbox beautiful.

Planting and Application:

You'll appreciate a special quality of this Chicagoland Grows introduction...Forever Pink garden Phlox appears to be sterile. That means no messy seeds or seedlings, and wave after wave of vibrant flowers held on strong stems that don't lodge or bend.

  • Fill in the gaps of your garden design with their cosmopolitan blooms. Your garden will look like it sprang from the pages of a designer magazine!
  • Line a walkway or garden path with a narrow mass planting. Remove sod and stagger a double or triple line to achieve a huge visual impact for very little care.
  • Pop them into patio pots with other perennials and small shrubs for a hardy container garden that performs for years. Forever Pink blooms are a versatile hue that works well with either cool-tones or warm ones.
  • Brighten up your existing evergreen trees and shrubs with a skirting of these pretty plants. Plant them in a raised bed or bring in additional soil to create a planting mound and you won't have to disrupt well-established roots.
  • Forever Pink hybrid Phlox also makes a terrific gift plant. It's easy enough for beginning gardeners, and coveted enough for plantaholics across the northern parts of the country.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant these mildew resistant bloomers in full sun and well-drained soil. They prefer to be kept moist, although once established can tolerate short droughts.

  • Add life-long support simply by using symbiotic Nature Hills Root Booster in the planting hole. .
  • Mulch over the root system after planting to a depth of three inches. Then, pull the mulch back from directly touching the stems.
  • Trim back the first flush of flower inflorescences as they fade. In early spring, prune back the dried foliage to start a beautiful new season!
