Starting the spring with drifts of gorgeous deep green foliage bedecked in lemon-yellow buds, they soon open to a creamy white color. Then you'll notice a hint of pink as they start to age! New foliage is red-rimmed and ages to glossy green, and remains clean and disease-free all growing season. This New England Rose Society Award Winner (2002) will be a standout in your garden. It mixes well with any other colors around it and shines as a cut flower, too!
With both Hybrid Tea and Shrub Rose lineage, Macy's Pride™ has huge flowers that rebloom effortlessly all growing season. It's hard to put a price on perfection. Macy's Pride™ is easy to grow and delightfully hardy throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 9 and grows to a compact 3-5 feet in height with a slightly smaller width. Very fragrant and embodying superior disease resistance, this own-root Shrub Rose makes growing Roses so easy!
Have you always wanted a Rose garden full of blooms for cutting that still has flowers all season long? Macy's Pride™ will anchor that garden like a flagship! The canes are nearly thornless and perfect for along paths and walkways so they won't catch your clothing. And your floral arrangements will look divine!
The butterflies and admirers will flock to your yard to get a closer look! The fully open blooms are loaded with vital pollen and nectar resources for all beneficial pollinators to enjoy!
Spruce up your front berm or mailbox planting with a radiant creamy white Rose bush! Dress this beauty up or down, it looks equally fantastic in formal and modern gardens and courtyards, as it will among wildflowers, perennials and cottage gardens! The glowing white blooms lend their hue to a moon garden too!
Lemony white Roses are thoughtful and long-lasting gifts and memorial plants. Mark an occasion, plant a memorial, or give the gift of an easy-to-grow and maintain Rose bush for any event and milestone for the cost of a bouquet of Roses at the florist!
Keeping Macy's Pride™ Rose healthy is so easy. Plant easy-care modern Roses where they'll get plenty of air circulation and full sun. Morning sun is best, and they'll need at least six or more hours of full sun a day. Plant in well-drained soil that doesn't stay soggy after rainfall and plant with some Nature Hills Root Booster to help your long-lived Roses with a symbiotic relationship with tiny feeder roots - it never wears out!
Schedule a moderate amount of consistent water for your Roses and try to water at the base of the plant, rather than wet the foliage. Spread a 3-4 inch layer of mulch to help reduce dirt splashing onto the leaves. This helps reduce the spread of disease and keeps your foliage clean.
In early spring and mid-summer, apply a slow-release fertilizer for flowering plants. Follow the application rates on the label, please. Prune own-root Roses down to eight inches in early spring just as they start to wake back up. Even the coldest winters will only kill the tops, but then regrow from the roots as good as ever! For everything about pruning Roses, winterizing Roses, and un-wintering Roses in spring in our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
If it's good enough for Macy's, then it will be a shining star in your garden! Order your Easy Elegance® Macy's Pride™ Landscaping Shrub Roses from Nature Hills today and be ready for a whole new world of easy-care Rose gardening!
Roses need a protected location and prefer full sun and favor the drying power of the morning sun and flower best in at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Choose a location in good, enriched soil that drains well and has good air circulation.
You can plant Roses any time if you can provide enough consistent moisture and attention. While there is not a specific month that is best, generally because it changes with temperatures, climate and growing zone. However, the easiest times of the year to get Rose bushes established in your landscape are in spring after the last frost date, and in fall about 4-6 weeks before the first frost.
Rose bushes are deciduous woody perennial shrubs and will return bigger and better each year.
